Interim Stores Assistant – 4‑day on/off rotation

About the role

We are seeking an Interim Stores Assistant to support a growing industrial and engineering business in Cornwall. You will work alongside the Lead Stores Assistant, helping to receive, store and issue materials while the company transitions to a new stores facility and new systems.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, check and book in deliveries.
• Issue materials, tools and consumables to operational teams.
• Maintain accurate stock records using Excel and stock control systems.
• Carry out stock checks, cycle counts and inventory reconciliations.
• Support the introduction of new stores processes.
• Assist with the relocation of the stores function into a new permanent facility.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or stock control role (advantageous).
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and a proactive, hands‑on approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

What we offer

• £28,000 salary.
• 3‑month fixed‑term contract.
