Interim Tribunal and Complaints Officer

About the role

Liverpool City Council is seeking an Interim Tribunal and Complaints Officer to provide specialist support for its SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) department. This short‑term position offers a daily rate of £400 and requires two days per week on site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and resolve complaints and tribunal cases within the SEND portfolio.
• Work to reduce the backlog of pending complaints and tribunals.
• Liaise with internal teams, external agencies and legal advisors to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Prepare accurate reports and documentation for senior management.
• Provide expert advice on complaint handling procedures and tribunal processes.

Required profile

• Proven track record in handling SEND‑related complaints and tribunal processes.
• Experience in interim or contract legal support roles.
• Ability to work two days per week on site in Liverpool.
• Strong knowledge of relevant UK legislation and council policies.
