Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are seeking an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join a well‑established M&E building services contractor in Greater Manchester. The role offers the chance to work on commercial and retail projects up to £5 million, with clear progression towards senior or leadership positions.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning and coordination of electrical design across multiple commercial projects.
• Produce electrical layouts, schematics and technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate design records and ensure compliance with deadlines and quality standards.
• Liaise with internal teams, clients and external stakeholders, attending design meetings and following up on actions.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2‑5 years of experience in electrical design within a building services environment.
• Knowledge of BS 7671 / IET Wiring Regulations.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Electrical OM (or similar) design software.
• AutoCAD.
• Revit (or comparable BIM tools).
