International Financial Accountant – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term

About the role

Proofpoint is seeking an International Financial Accountant to join its fast‑paced, high‑performing accounting team. The role focuses on European and LATAM subsidiaries and offers a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with opportunities for career growth as the company expands globally.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close procedures, including account reconciliations and roll‑forward schedules.
• Prepare journal entries based on supporting reconciliations and schedules.
• Handle General Ledger duties such as monthly management reporting packages, accounting for international subsidiaries, and accruals.
• Assist in preparing monthly balance‑sheet and income‑statement variance analyses for management reporting.
• Support the procure‑to‑pay process and annual subsidiary audits where applicable.
• Contribute to finance SOX compliance activities.
• Participate in process‑improvement projects and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.
• Deliver ad‑hoc projects as required.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with a recognised accounting qualification.
• Experience in general accounting within industry and/or a public accounting firm.
• Experience working with international subsidiaries (a plus).
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP (a plus).
• Strong proficiency in Excel.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent analytical and prioritisation skills.
• Effective communication across various mediums and audiences.
• ERP system experience, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 (a plus).
