International Indirect Tax Compliance Analyst

About the role
Air Canada is seeking an International Indirect Tax Compliance Analyst to join its finance team. The analyst will support the end‑to‑end indirect tax compliance process for the airline’s global operations, ensuring accurate reporting, refunds, and audit responses.
Key responsibilities
- Review exception reports and errors generated by the automated tax solution.
- Implement workarounds for system limitations to meet compliance obligations.
- Assist the manager or director with tax compliance audits, preparing tax reports, refund claims, and audit replies.
- Investigate anomalies in remittances, develop remediation plans, and oversee implementation.
- Maintain accurate accounting for international indirect tax liabilities and ensure complete audit trails.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reconciliations of indirect tax accounts.
Required profile
- Degree in Business or Finance with an accounting designation.
- Experience or knowledge of international indirect tax.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities, able to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Familiarity with SOVOS tax automation software.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP.
