Intervention Specialist – Supporting Pupils in Sheffield

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Intervention Specialist to join a supportive and inclusive school in Sheffield. In this role you will work closely with pupils who need additional academic or pastoral assistance, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group targeted interventions to improve pupil progress.
• Identify learning gaps and implement effective strategies to close them.
• Support pupils in building confidence, independence and engagement with learning.
• Monitor, assess and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals to develop and review individual learning plans.

Required profile

• Previous experience delivering interventions or targeted support in an educational setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through the agency.
