Intervention Support Worker – Secondary School (Milton Keynes)

About the role
We are looking for a compassionate Intervention Support Worker to join a secondary school in Milton Keynes from September 2026. The role is based in a dedicated Intervention Centre and focuses on helping disengaged learners re‑engage with the curriculum through targeted 1:1 and small‑group work.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver tailored intervention programmes that address academic, social and emotional needs.
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to rebuild confidence and learning behaviours.
- Collaborate with teaching, pastoral and SEND teams to design personalised support plans.
- Monitor, record and report on student progress and attendance.
- Offer in‑class assistance where required to ensure successful lesson access.
- Build trusting relationships with students, families and external professionals.
Required profile
- Experience working with young people in education, pastoral, SEND or youth‑work settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Patient, calm and empathetic approach.
- Ability to adapt strategies to diverse individual needs.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
