Intervention Teaching Assistant – Upper KS2 (London)

About the role
An intervention teaching assistant is needed for a forward‑thinking primary school in Greenwich to provide targeted academic support for Upper KS2 pupils. The role focuses on small‑group work in reading, writing and maths, helping students make measurable progress.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver structured interventions in reading comprehension, writing structure and maths fluency for Years 5‑6.
- Plan, track and review intervention sessions in collaboration with the SENCo and phase leader.
- Assess pupil progress regularly and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
- Lead small‑group sessions, ensuring a calm and focused learning environment.
- Communicate progress and needs clearly with classroom teachers and support staff.
Required profile
- Experience delivering academic interventions at KS2 level.
- Confidence supporting both maths and English learning objectives.
- Ability to assess progress and modify sessions accordingly.
- Strong organisational skills, patience and the ability to lead small groups.
- Graduates in English, Maths, Education, Psychology or related subjects are encouraged to apply.
