Interventional Study Scientist Medical Director

About the role

GSK is seeking an Interventional Study Scientist Medical Director to lead the scientific design and execution of interventional clinical studies within its Medical Affairs organisation. Based in London, you will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure studies meet strategic objectives, uphold the highest standards of quality and ethics, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan and oversee interventional clinical studies aligned with evidence generation strategies.
• Provide medical governance, review safety data, and implement risk‑mitigation actions.
• Offer scientific oversight for study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and data interpretation.
• Ensure patient safety and scientific integrity throughout study conduct, including monitoring and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external investigators or thought leaders to optimise study design and execution.
• Prepare and present study findings for scientific meetings, peer‑reviewed publications, and regulatory submissions.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline (MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent).
• Significant experience leading interventional clinical studies in therapeutic areas such as oncology, haematology, immunology or related GSK portfolios.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
