Inventory Manager

About the role

The Inventory Manager will join Babcock's Mission Systems business, supporting critical defence and engineering programmes. You will be responsible for maintaining inventory integrity, optimising spares and repairs, and ensuring supply chain performance aligns with operational readiness and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory data and manage inventory management systems.
• Monitor and report performance against internal and customer SLAs and KPIs.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end spares and repairs processes, engaging stakeholders across the supply chain.
• Provide inventory insight, analysis and recommendations to support demand and supply planning.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and oversee stock movements between internal locations.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering excellent customer service in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong time and workload management skills, handling competing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Collaborative approach across multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP systems – IFS and SAP (advantageous).
• MoD SCM Skills Certificate Level 1.
• Knowledge of MoD systems such as BIWMS, CRISP, SS3 and JAMES, and related processes (DLF).
• Ability to deliver presentations to senior stakeholders.
• Security clearance (as required).
