IoT Integration Engineer

About the role

We are a growing product design and manufacturing business seeking an IoT Integration Engineer to bridge physical products and smart technology. The role is hands‑on, covering specification, sourcing, testing and validation of IoT devices and sensors to ensure reliable connected features before market launch.

Key responsibilities

• Specify, source and procure off‑the‑shelf IoT devices, sensors and hardware systems that meet product requirements.
• Design and execute DVT/PVT testing protocols to validate smart technologies under real‑world conditions.
• Troubleshoot integration issues across physical, electronic and data interfaces.
• Act as the technical liaison for hardware suppliers, test labs and manufacturing vendors.
• Track integration milestones, timelines and risks using tools such as Jira, Trello or Excel.
• Maintain accurate validation logs, schematics and component specification sheets.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Systems or Mechanical engineering, or equivalent practical experience with IoT devices, electrical or embedded systems.
• Proven experience testing, validating and debugging hardware, sensors or connected devices.
• Practical knowledge of wireless protocols such as BLE, Wi‑Fi, LoRa or cellular.
• Experience specifying and procuring off‑the‑shelf electronic components.
• Familiarity with compliance standards (CE/UKCA, FCC, IP ratings) and optionally CAD tools like SolidWorks.
