IT Analyst – Technical Support in Education

About the role

The IT Analyst will join a dedicated team supporting a large further‑education provider across South Cumbria. You will deliver first‑ and second‑line technical assistance to staff, students and apprentices, ensuring reliable IT services across two campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑ and second‑line support, diagnosing and resolving incidents and service requests.
• Log, prioritize and update tickets in the IT service management system, escalating when required.
• Perform routine system changes, proactive maintenance, and equipment deployment.
• Manage IT assets and contribute to security best‑practice initiatives.
• Participate in IT projects, continuous‑improvement activities and documentation.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the IT department.

Required profile

• Experience in first‑line IT support, with exposure to second‑line responsibilities.
• Customer‑focused attitude and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple sites.
• Commitment to professional development within an educational environment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools.
• Understanding of IT security best practices.
• Experience with asset management and equipment deployment.
