IT Apprentice – Level 3 IT Solutions Technician

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join Sunderland AFC’s IT team. You will support day‑to‑day IT operations in a busy stadium environment, gaining hands‑on experience while working towards a funded Level 3 IT Solutions Technician apprenticeship.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line helpdesk support to staff and match‑day personnel.
• Maintain and monitor IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment and peripherals.
• Assist with hardware and software deployment and configuration.
• Support user account creation, permission changes and password resets.
• Help ensure systems are operational during events and adhere to data‑protection policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 GCSEs (grade 4/above) including Maths and English.
• Strong interest in IT and a willingness to learn.
• Good problem‑solving ability, attention to detail and reliable attendance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of computer hardware.
• Basic understanding of software applications.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts.
