IT Capability & Workforce Transformation Lead

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Capability & Workforce Transformation Lead to drive a major technology transformation programme in Reading. You will work closely with senior IT and HR leaders to shape workforce planning, capability assessment and organisational design for a large technology function.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of SFIA‑aligned job families and career pathways across the IT organisation.
• Establish current capability baselines, conduct gap analyses and define future skills requirements.
• Develop and execute strategic workforce plans that support the evolving business and technology roadmap.
• Support the design of the future IT operating model and target operating model delivery.
• Drive organisational change initiatives and champion a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
• Engage senior stakeholders across IT and HR to ensure alignment and adoption of workforce strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IT workforce planning, capability management and strategic workforce planning.
• Hands‑on expertise with SFIA job architecture and career framework design.
• Strong background in organisational design, target operating model delivery and change leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct skills assessments, capability gap analysis and develop workforce strategies.
• Excellent senior stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
