IT Director – Hybrid (Reading, UK)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Director to lead the technology function of a fast‑growing, award‑winning SaaS vendor in Reading. The role is hybrid, with regular days in the office, and offers a competitive salary plus benefits and bonus.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of two direct reports and oversee internal business systems including CRM, finance, telephony, HR and HubSpot.
• Ensure stability, performance and security of the IT infrastructure – servers, networks, cloud services and related platforms.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and manage information‑security controls.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors, MSPs and partners, monitoring SLAs and renewal decisions.
• Own procurement, deployment and lifecycle management of hardware and software assets.
• Run the internal helpdesk function, delivering a high‑quality service experience.
• Act as technical SME on cross‑functional projects, translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years in a leadership or team‑lead role and 7 years in IT operations or infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing multiple internal systems and integrations in an SME environment.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver concurrent technology or business transformation projects.
• Strong vendor management experience with MSPs or technology partners.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical risk to non‑technical stakeholders.
