IT Field Engineer (Chesterfield)

About the role

We are seeking an IT Field Engineer to join a growing IT Services business based in Chesterfield. The role is client‑facing, supporting a variety of SME environments across the East Midlands through onsite visits, project work and escalations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote support across client environments.
• Support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange, Teams and SharePoint.
• Manage users and security in Entra ID / Active Directory.
• Assist with networking issues involving switches, routers, firewalls and Wi‑Fi.
• Carry out installations, upgrades and project work onsite.
• Build strong relationships with end users and clients.
• Escalate complex issues when required.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑facing communication skills.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 technologies (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).
• Knowledge of Azure / Entra ID, Active Directory, Group Policy and user administration.
• Experience with Windows Server environments.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, Wi‑Fi).
• Ability to work independently across client sites.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous experience in an MSP or IT Services environment (beneficial).
