IT Field Service Engineer – South Region

About the role

The IT Field Service Engineer will support Breedon’s internal customers across the South of England. Working on‑site, you will install, configure and maintain computer systems, networks and related equipment to ensure optimal performance for a variety of business units.

Key responsibilities

• Engage regularly with key customers and sites to identify improvements and resolve issues.
• Provide field support for PCs, laptops, mobiles, printers, meeting‑room equipment and other workplace technology.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation for Workplace Services.
• Monitor systems and networks proactively to spot potential problems.
• Deliver application support, software installations and user guidance both face‑to‑face and over the phone.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults, replace faulty equipment and adhere to agreed SLA response times.
• Assist with roll‑outs of new applications, site openings or decommissioning projects.
• Support health and safety compliance through adherence to company policies.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑focused attitude with the ability to build relationships across the business.
• Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple tickets to completion.
• Good communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Experience with desktops and laptops, Windows 10 and Windows 11.
• Office365 administration and maintenance.
• Application support and software installation.
• Knowledge of servers, LAN/WAN networking and cloud‑hosted solutions.
• Support for tablets and mobile phones on iOS and Android platforms.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) for imaging laptops and desktops.
• Understanding of printer and meeting‑room equipment maintenance.
