IT Helpdesk Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an IT Helpdesk Engineer to join our expanding team in St. Albans. The role involves resolving helpdesk tickets, performing system administration, and supporting our network of offices across the UK. After a probation period you will be able to work one day per week from home.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support by resolving helpdesk tickets for internal staff.
• Administer Office 365, Azure, Active Directory and Group Policies.
• Perform routine system tasks such as updates, backups and monitoring.
• Manage the Omnissa Horizon virtual desktop environment and troubleshoot access issues.
• Liaise with third‑party suppliers for escalations and resolution.
• Assist with legal case management tools (e.g., Partner 4 Windows) where required.
• Document processes, procedures and resolutions in the knowledge base.
• Prepare and deploy new hardware (laptops, phones) to staff.
• Visit UK offices periodically for maintenance and hardware/software roll‑outs.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Windows Server environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Experience with Omnissa Horizon or similar remote desktop solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based VoIP systems.
• Understanding of networking concepts (WAN, LAN, VPN).
• Security‑mindset and ability to follow security protocols.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or VMWare Certified are advantageous.

What we offer

• Salary £25,000‑£27,000 per year.
• Full‑time, Monday‑Friday schedule.
