IT Infrastructure Engineer – Preston

About the role

Our client is creating a new position for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing IT team in Preston. The role combines hands‑on support of the existing environment with delivery of infrastructure projects, system migrations and security improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint services.
• Manage endpoint devices, including patching, vulnerability remediation, MFA, Conditional Access, encryption and endpoint protection.
• Implement and support networking and security best practices across the organisation.
• Lead infrastructure projects such as migrations, backup solutions and security upgrades.
• Provide technical escalation support to the Service Desk for complex issues.

Required profile

• Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows environments.
• Proven ability to administer Intune, Entra ID and endpoint management tools.
• Good understanding of networking concepts and IT security standards.
• Track record of delivering infrastructure or technical projects.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
