IT Manager (Education)

About the role

Turn IT On is seeking an enthusiastic IT Manager to lead the technology services for a school in Reading. The role combines network management, system maintenance and user support to ensure a secure and reliable ICT environment that enhances teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the school’s network infrastructure and ICT applications.
• Monitor and maintain switches, virtual and physical server environments, Microsoft 365 and backup solutions.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support and resolve service requests efficiently.
• Deliver technical advice, training and support to staff.
• Line‑manage the ICT support team and oversee daily IT operations.
• Prepare monthly service review reports and report any SLA breaches.
• Enforce school IT policies and ensure security and stability of the network.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience as an IT Manager, Network Manager or Senior ICT Consultant in a school setting.
• Strong understanding of the educational environment and its specific ICT requirements.
• Proven experience upgrading school IT network systems.
• Self‑motivated with excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive problem‑solving attitude.

What we offer
