IT Manager – Education

About the role

The School IT Manager will oversee the design, security, maintenance and installation of the school's ICT network and related hardware and software. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure the network supports staff and students effectively while maintaining stability and security.

Key responsibilities

• Run the school's ICT applications and network infrastructure.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support and ensure compliance with school policies.
• Manage day‑to‑day IT operations, responding quickly to requests.
• Line‑manage ICT support staff and monitor their work.
• Deliver technical advice, training and support to staff.
• Maintain virtual and physical server environments, switches, Microsoft 365 and backup solutions.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and projects.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience as an IT Manager, Network Manager or Senior ICT Consultant in a school environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑motivated, excellent communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Understanding of the specific requirements of a school ICT environment.
• Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

What we offer

• Salary between £33,000 and £41,000 (negotiable for the right candidate)
