IT Manager – Education (Reading)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Manager to lead the technology services for a school in Reading. You will be responsible for the design, implementation and security of the school’s ICT network, ensuring it supports effective teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the school’s network infrastructure and ICT applications.
• Monitor and maintain switches, virtual and physical server environments, Microsoft 365 and backup systems.
• Provide technical advice, training and support to staff.
• Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations and ensure timely handling of service requests.
• Lead and develop the ICT support team, delivering 2nd/3rd line support.
• Enforce IT policies and ensure compliance with school regulations.
• Plan and execute IT projects and upgrades.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years experience as an IT Manager, Network Manager or Senior ICT Consultant in a school setting.
• Strong understanding of the educational environment and its IT requirements.
• Proven experience upgrading school network systems.
• Self‑motivated with excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
