IT Manager – Lead Internal IT Function

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead the internal IT function of a well‑established engineering and technology business. You will combine hands‑on infrastructure management with team leadership, strategic planning and continuous service improvement across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the internal IT support team.
• Own the organisation's IT infrastructure, systems and services.
• Ensure high availability, performance and security of the IT estate.
• Manage incidents, problems, changes and service improvements following ITIL best practice.
• Oversee Microsoft 365, networking and security technologies.
• Manage relationships with external suppliers and service providers.
• Contribute to IT strategy, budgeting and future technology planning.
• Support cyber‑security initiatives, compliance activities and accreditation programmes.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and asset management processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing an IT team in a complex, regulated environment.
• Strong background in enterprise IT infrastructure and service delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials or similar security frameworks is a plus.
