IT Manager – Operations, Security & Microsoft 365

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on IT Manager to own IT operations, information security and data privacy for a fast‑growing medium‑sized business services firm in London. Reporting to the CIO, you will drive system reliability, manage vendor relationships and shape the Microsoft 365 and AI strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and resolve IT incidents and service requests within SLA, coordinating with a third‑party MSP.
• Oversee MSP performance, ensuring continuous improvement and service delivery.
• Own IT asset management, including procurement and lifecycle tracking of hardware.
• Lead and optimise the Microsoft 365 environment (Intune, Defender, identity & access management, compliance).
• Configure and support SaaS business applications across the organisation.
• Streamline joiner, mover, leaver processes and manage onboarding/off‑boarding.
• Maintain communication platforms such as Teams, RingCentral and Slack.
• Manage DNS, email security and domain reputation (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
• Oversee office technology infrastructure, including networks, Wi‑Fi and new office setups.
• Drive InfoSec maturity aligned to the CIS framework, maintain Cyber Essentials Plus certification and deliver security awareness training.
• Ensure compliance with data‑protection regulations, handling SARs and RTBF requests.
• Lead Microsoft Copilot and AI initiatives and collaborate on SharePoint and Power Automate solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in IT operations or service‑desk environments.
• Proven track record managing IT in a fast‑growing, global business.
• Experience owning information security and data‑protection programmes.
• Strong background in Microsoft 365 and Windows endpoint management.
• Experience working with MSPs and managing vendor relationships.
• Degree (2:1 or above) in a relevant field; ITIL certification desirable.
• Microsoft certifications desirable.
