IT Operations Engineer – Microsoft Cloud & Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Engineer to join our growing operations team in Doncaster. The role focuses on managing Microsoft cloud and on‑premise infrastructure, ensuring performance, availability and security of critical services. You will act as a senior escalation point and drive automation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Provide technical escalation support for Service Desk and Desktop teams.
• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and system incidents.
• Monitor performance, capacity and security of core systems.
• Implement preventative solutions for recurring issues.
• Deliver changes following change‑control processes.
• Support backup, disaster‑recovery and restoration activities.
• Contribute to cloud and infrastructure projects, delivering assigned technical deliverables.
• Produce detailed documentation, solution designs and support procedures.
• Automate operational tasks through scripting and orchestration.

Required profile

• Strong background in Microsoft cloud technologies and infrastructure.
• Proven experience handling senior‑level technical escalations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
