IT Solutions Designer/Infrastructure Lead

About the role

This position is with a forward‑thinking public sector organisation in West Yorkshire that is driving digital transformation. As an IT Solutions Designer/Infrastructure Lead you will translate business needs into secure, scalable technology solutions and help shape the future architecture of a complex organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end technology solutions across infrastructure, networks and cyber security.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, solution specifications and architecture blueprints.
• Develop and maintain solution architecture documentation, standards and governance artefacts.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle and support Agile delivery teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend suitable options.
• Conduct risk assessments and support mitigation planning.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather and validate requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in solution design, solution architecture or a technical lead role.
• Strong background in infrastructure, cloud, networking and cyber security technologies.
• Experience designing secure, scalable enterprise solutions in complex environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in Agile delivery environments and translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
• Public‑sector experience is advantageous.
