IT Support Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an IT Support Assistant to join our onsite technology team in Acton, supporting warehouse operations and a range of business systems. This junior role offers hands‑on experience across hardware, software and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st‑line support for hardware, software and business applications.
• Manage and resolve service‑desk tickets within agreed SLAs, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Prepare, configure and ship IT equipment for new starters and internal moves.
• Maintain accurate asset records and technical documentation.
• Support bespoke business systems and assist with user testing.
• Assist with IT infrastructure rollouts and technology projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve service‑desk processes and user experience.
• Deliver responsive onsite support to warehouse teams, installing and maintaining desktops, laptops, tablets, monitors, printers, peripherals and cabling.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to minimise operational downtime.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an IT Support, Service Desk or Helpdesk role.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication with both technical and non‑technical users.
• Customer‑focused attitude and willingness to help.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a fast‑paced operational environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Proactive mindset with a desire to learn and develop technical skills.

Required skills

• Support for Windows operating systems.
• Installation and maintenance of desktops, laptops, tablets and monitors.
• Printer and peripheral device troubleshooting.
• Cabling and basic networking hardware.
