IT Support Engineer

About the role

A growing company is looking for a proactive, customer-focused IT Support Engineer to join its team. The role suits someone with strong technical troubleshooting skills who enjoys giving first-class support to users and keeping IT systems running reliably. It is a permanent position based in Weybridge.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to internal users.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues.
• Set up, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Manage user accounts, passwords and permissions in Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
• Install, configure and update software applications.
• Maintain IT infrastructure and escalate complex issues where needed.
• Keep accurate records of incidents, support requests and resolutions.
• Assist with system upgrades, deployments and IT projects, and comply with IT policies and security procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an IT Support, IT Technician or Helpdesk role.
• Experience supporting hardware, software, printers and networking equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and good communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and handle multiple support requests.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP is desirable; full UK driving licence preferred.
• Relevant IT qualifications (CompTIA, Microsoft or equivalent) are advantageous.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365.
• Understanding of Active Directory, Exchange and user administration.
