IT Support Technician – 1st/2nd Line – Manchester

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Greater Manchester. The role is site‑based across Whitefield and Oldham, providing first‑ and second‑line support to office, warehouse, factory and remote users.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1st and 2nd line IT support to all business locations.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, IP phones and mobile devices.
• Take ownership of help‑desk tickets and resolve issues efficiently.
• Support the delivery of key IT projects across the organisation.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in IT support, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Proactive, customer‑focused attitude with strong problem‑solving skills.

• Network infrastructure – switches, VLANs, Wi‑Fi and VPNs

• VoIP telephony systems
• ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus or similar ITSM platform
• Desirable: HCL Notes/Domino, Windows Server 2019+, endpoint security deployment, VMware, Hyper‑V, macOS, Linux
