IT Support Technician – Entry Level (Edinburgh)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Support Technician to join our growing Edinburgh office. As the first point of contact for around 200 employees, you will work within a close‑knit IT team of five, gaining hands‑on experience across a range of technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st‑line IT support to internal users, troubleshooting laptops, Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Diagnose and resolve basic networking and hardware issues.
• Manage support tickets using Freshdesk, ensuring timely updates and escalation when required.
• Assist with onboarding, laptop configuration, hardware refreshes and asset management.
• Support mobile device management via Intune and maintain meeting‑room technology.

Required profile

• Strong communication and customer‑service orientation.
• Some prior experience in an IT support or help‑desk role.
• Patient, approachable and eager to learn.
• Understanding of how an IT help‑desk operates.

Required skills

• Freshdesk ticketing system.
• Microsoft 365 / Windows operating systems.
• Intune or other MDM solutions.
• Basic networking concepts.
• Hardware troubleshooting and laptop setup.
• Asset management procedures.
