IT Systems Administrator (Hybrid, Oswestry)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our Technology department on a hybrid basis. You will be responsible for keeping our IT infrastructure stable, performant and secure while contributing to transformational projects that support our growth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain availability, performance and security of all IT systems in line with Service Level Agreements.
• Deliver internal projects and support technical implementations across the organisation.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operation of the IT Service Desk, providing high‑quality first‑ and second‑line support.
• Assist with IT operations planning, budgeting and lifecycle management of hardware and software.
• Produce and keep up‑to‑date system documentation and records.
• Ensure information‑security standards are met, performing regular testing and remediation.
• Act as an escalation point for senior technical issues and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with Windows operating systems, Active Directory and Azure.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs) in LAN environments.
• Hands‑on experience with virtualised environments such as VMware.
• Experience implementing IT security controls, vulnerability management and remediation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the business.
