IT Systems Technician – Bury St Edmunds

About the role

Robinson Young Ltd is seeking an IT Systems Technician to join its Bury St Edmunds office. This full‑time position supports the IT Manager and helps maintain and improve the company’s core business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support and development for core business applications alongside the IT Manager.
• Investigate and resolve data issues and user requests.
• Maintain and enhance applications over time.
• Maintain data interfaces, imports/exports and automation routines.
• Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements, automation and efficiency gains.
• Ensure IT changes are traceable, reviewed and properly tested to support IT controls.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in an IT department (preferred).
• Experience supporting ERP/MRP suites.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude.
• Programming experience in any language and willingness to learn additional languages.
• Desirable experience implementing and embedding an ERP system.
• Essential database administration experience.
• Understanding of systems administration.
• General IT user support experience.
