IT Technician – 1st & 2nd Line Support

About the role

This position offers an experienced IT Technician the chance to broaden technical exposure while supporting users and critical systems in a growing organisation. The role is based on‑site five days a week near Colchester.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software and user issues.
• Act as the first point of contact for IT incidents and service requests.
• Support and administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Assist with Azure/Entra ID user administration, permissions and access management.
• Manage and resolve tickets in line with agreed service levels.
• Deliver excellent customer service and clear communication to end users.
• Collaborate with the wider IT team to resolve technical issues and improve service delivery.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a 1st and/or 2nd line IT support role.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
• Knowledge of Azure and Entra ID administration.
• Familiarity with service‑desk or ITSM ticketing systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software and remote support environments.
• Understanding of ITIL principles or an ITIL certification is beneficial.
