IT Technician (1st Line Support – School Environment)

About the role

This is a full‑time, first‑line IT support position within a specialist school serving over 220 pupils with additional needs. Working alongside an experienced IT Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for staff and students, ensuring reliable technology for daily learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support to staff and students via the service desk.
• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets and peripheral devices.
• Support Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Active Directory user administration.
• Maintain AV equipment and specialist educational technology in classrooms.
• Manage hardware and software inventories, licences and asset registers.
• Assist with onboarding new staff and support IT projects across the site.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a first‑line IT support role.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative school team.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with non‑technical staff and students.
• Motivation to develop a long‑term career in IT within an educational setting.
