IT Technician – Edinburgh

About the role

We are looking for an IT Technician to join a fast‑growing Edinburgh‑based business of around 60 people. The role goes beyond basic password resets, offering the chance to support day‑to‑day users while contributing to AI adoption, process improvement and smarter internal systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for hardware, software and user issues.
• Set up, configure and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, peripherals and other devices.
• Support onboarding and off‑boarding, including account creation and access permissions.
• Maintain Microsoft 365/Office 365 environments, including email, collaboration tools and SharePoint.
• Assist with software management, patching and basic networking troubleshooting.
• Develop and improve internal documentation and support processes.
• Identify recurring issues and propose proactive solutions.
• Contribute to wider technology initiatives as the company scales.

Required profile

• Positive attitude, curiosity and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
• Experience supporting hardware and software in a business environment.
• Understanding of Microsoft 365/Office 365 and related collaboration tools.
• Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals such as IP addressing, DNS and DHCP.
• Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Active Directory or user account management.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Enjoys working in a collaborative, fast‑moving team.
