IT Technician - Manchester

About the role

We are looking for a proactive IT Technician to join our campus IT team in Manchester. You will be the first point of contact for students and staff, ensuring that technology runs smoothly and securely so learning and work can continue without interruption.

Key responsibilities

• Provide face‑to‑face IT support to students and staff across the campus.
• Set up, configure and install PCs, laptops, audio‑visual and other IT equipment, including operating systems, software and drivers.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software issues, applying corrective actions or escalating when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of loaned equipment, repairs and maintenance schedules.
• Follow best‑practice guidelines to protect network security and data privacy.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+).
• Hands‑on experience installing operating systems, software and configuring computer networks.
• Experience delivering IT support both in person and remotely (phone, online chat).
• Familiarity with service management systems and ITIL best practices.
• Understanding of Windows‑based environments, Active Directory and MS Exchange.
