IT Technician (Roaming Support)

About the role

The Harris Federation is seeking a proactive IT Technician to provide roaming support across its academies in Haringey, Brent and Thurrock. You will ensure the delivery of high‑quality, ITIL‑aligned services to head‑office staff, teachers and students, covering short‑term absences, vacancies and periods of increased demand.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑line IT support in line with ITIL and HarrisNet standards.
• Log, own and resolve support tickets within agreed SLA targets using the Service Management system.
• Escalate or re‑route incidents to third‑line teams, project managers and other stakeholders as required.
• Identify recurring issues, perform root‑cause analysis and document work‑arounds in the knowledge base.
• Image, deploy and maintain Windows 11 PCs, laptops, tablets and Apple iMacs/iPads.
• Install, configure and maintain peripherals such as printers, interactive whiteboards and projectors.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to delivering reliable IT services in an educational environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to keep users informed of progress.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Windows 11 deployment and imaging.
• Apple iMac and iPad configuration.
• Peripheral installation (printers, IWBs, projectors).
• ITIL service‑management principles.
• Use of a Service Management ticketing system.
• Knowledge‑base documentation and root‑cause analysis.
