IT Technician – School Network Support

About the role

We are seeking an IT Technician to deliver IT support services and manage project‑related activities across several primary academies in Haringey, Brent and Thurrock. Working as a roaming technician, you will provide flexible, on‑site assistance to cover short‑term absences, vacancies and additional demand while maintaining high‑quality, ITIL‑aligned services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality IT support, advice and guidance in line with ITIL and HarrisNet principles for head office, academy staff and students.
• Log all support requests accurately in the Service Management system.
• Own academy support tickets, keep staff updated on progress and resolve tickets within SLA targets.
• Re‑route or escalate tickets to the appropriate team and collaborate with third‑line support, project managers and stakeholders.
• Identify, implement and document desktop workarounds in the Knowledgebase.
• Identify recurring incidents and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Experience delivering end‑user IT support in an educational environment.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and service‑level management.
• Ability to work independently across multiple school sites.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with staff and students.

Required skills

• ITIL framework knowledge.
• Proficiency with ticketing / Service Management systems.
• Desktop troubleshooting and hardware/software support.
