Japanese Speaking Buyer

About the role

We are looking for a Japanese speaking Buyer to manage the procurement of food products from Japanese manufacturers. You will work closely with sales, technical and supplier teams to ensure a smooth supply chain and compliance with food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Gather sales forecasts and customer feedback to plan demand and place orders, avoiding shortages or overstock.
• Coordinate with manufacturers to monitor shipping and delivery schedules of incoming containers.
• Negotiate quotations and terms with suppliers, identifying new product opportunities.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to achieve business targets.
• Work with the Technical Department to ensure new products meet legal and food safety requirements.
• Collect accurate item data for entry into the SAP system following purchase procedures.

Required profile

• Business‑level proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N1‑2).
• Experience in the food industry is preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
