Java Developer – Up to £60,000 + Bonus (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a global technology consultancy delivering secure, large‑scale digital transformation programmes. They are seeking a Java Developer to join a growing engineering team building modern, cloud‑based micro‑services platforms in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend services using Java (JDK 11+) and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement scalable micro‑services and REST APIs.
• Collaborate in Agile Scrum teams and support cloud deployments on AWS.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and code quality tools.
• Work closely with technical leads, testers and DevOps engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of commercial Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Understanding of micro‑services architecture.
• Passion for clean code and modern engineering practices.
