Java Development Lead – Front Office Electronic Trading

About the role

This senior Java development position leads the transformation of a long‑standing Front Office FX Options pricing platform into a modern, event‑driven trading system. The role is hands‑on, focusing on high‑performance Java services while collaborating directly with traders, quants and senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and build scalable, low‑latency Java services for global electronic trading.
• Replace the legacy platform with a cloud‑native, event‑driven architecture.
• Drive engineering best practices, system design, and AI‑assisted development.
• Improve platform performance, resilience, and developer productivity.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to deliver critical trading functionality.

Required profile

• Strong background in backend software engineering, especially with complex distributed systems.
• Experience designing and delivering high‑throughput, low‑latency services.
• Ability to influence architecture without formal line‑management responsibilities.
