Java & .NET Developer

About the role

Join Sky’s Content Platforms team as a Java & .NET Developer, building and supporting mission‑critical cloud services that deliver content to millions of customers across Sky Q, Sky Glass, Sky Go and NOW. You will work in a hybrid model, spending two days a week in the Osterley office, collaborating with a high‑performing agile delivery team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain cloud‑based services using Java (Spring) and .NET (C#).
• Implement event‑driven architectures with Kafka and ensure scalability, reliability and performance.
• Support both cloud and on‑premise applications, including legacy stacks.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: analysis, design, coding, testing and post‑launch support.
• Contribute to code reviews, pair programming and continuous improvement of engineering standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience building backend services in Java (Spring) and .NET (C#) in production.
• Strong knowledge of SQL (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL (Couchbase) databases.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work across modern cloud environments and legacy on‑premise systems.
