Job Coach – Support for Learners with Disabilities

About the role

The Job Coach will work within Blackburn College’s internship programme, helping young people aged 16‑24 with learning difficulties or disabilities secure employment. You will provide hands‑on guidance, gradually reducing support as the learner gains confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one coaching to learners throughout the term.
• Assist learners in developing CVs, interview skills and job‑search strategies.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to support learners in class and during work placements.
• Monitor progress and adjust support levels to promote independence.

Required profile

• Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Proven experience working with learners who have learning difficulties or disabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a support‑focused environment.
• Experience supporting learners within a classroom setting.
