Joiner – Skilled Carpentry for Public Sector Sites

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Joiner to join our client’s team working on public sector sites across South Tyneside and Sunderland. The role involves delivering high‑quality maintenance, upgrades and refurbishment projects while working from a dedicated facility each day in a structured, secure team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general joinery maintenance, repairs and installations to a high standard.
• Fit, repair and adjust commercial doors, fire doors, frames and ironmongery.
• Install fitted furniture, cabinetry, shelving and timber partitions.
• Complete scheduled planned works and day‑to‑day upkeep across facilities.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety and site hygiene protocols at all times.

Required profile

• Time‑served Joiner with an NVQ Level 3 qualification.
• DBS check and verified work references are mandatory.
• Strong background in commercial, public‑sector or facility‑maintenance joinery.
• Reliable, detail‑oriented and able to work professionally around on‑site staff and the public.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

What we offer

• £22.00 – £24.00 per hour, depending on experience and payment route.
• Flexible payment options including PAYE or CIS.
• Steady full‑time hours (40 hrs, Monday‑Friday) based on one main site per day.
