Junior Accountant – Grow Your Accountancy Career

About the role

We are a well‑established accountancy practice in Maidstone looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to support a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses. This full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday position offers hands‑on experience across accounting, tax and client services while working closely with senior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Provide bookkeeping support for a varied client base.
• Assist in preparing and submitting VAT returns on time.
• Support the production of management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare statutory accounts for owner‑managed companies.
• Help with personal and corporate tax return preparation.
• Assist with tax computations alongside accounts work.
• Provide occasional payroll assistance when required.
• Prepare and file Annual Confirmation Statements and other Companies House documents.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance requirements are met.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
• Exposure to accounts preparation, bookkeeping and tax work.
• Residence within a 45‑minute commute to Maidstone.
