Junior Architectural Design Consultant – London

About the role

ESA Engineering UK is looking for a motivated Junior Architectural Design Consultant to join its London office. This hands‑on position offers a graduate architect the chance to work across the full project lifecycle, from early design development to construction delivery, within a multi‑disciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop architectural design documentation from RIBA Stage 2 to Stage 4, including drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Produce and maintain BIM drawing packages in Revit and coordinate federated models with structural and MEP consultants.
• Prepare and manage planning applications, listed building consents, prior approvals and Change of Use submissions.
• Draft and review Employer’s Requirements volumes, spatial briefs, performance specifications and material schedules.
• Support Employer’s Agent duties: prepare instructions, RFIs, contract correspondence, and review contractor proposals and method statements.
• Attend and minute design team coordination meetings, client review meetings and site progress meetings.
• Maintain a log of professional experience toward ARB Part 3 qualification and engage with the practice mentorship programme.

Required profile

• MArch or equivalent qualification at ARB/RIBA Part 2 level.
• Minimum 1 year post‑Part 2 practice experience in a UK architectural or multi‑disciplinary consultancy.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit (mandatory).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience producing coordinated BIM drawing sets.
