Junior Buyer – Gardening (Central Support Office)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior Buyer to join our Gardening team within Buying & Merchandising. Based in our Central Support Office in Lasswade, you will work closely with the Senior Buyer to source and develop commercial ranges that attract customers to Dobbies.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage critical‑path timelines with key business stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to secure the best price and quality.
• Meet KPIs on sales margin for assigned product categories.
• Analyse consumer buying patterns to anticipate future trends.
• Ensure product launches align with seasonal calendars.
• Attend trade shows and supplier visits to expand the supply base.
• Monitor performance indicators such as sales and discount levels and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare reports and sales forecasts for multi‑channel retailing.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and commercial awareness.
• Creative eye for trends and opportunities.
• Confident negotiator able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Positive, energetic attitude with a passion for retail and gardening.
