Junior CAD Technician (Joinery)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior CAD Technician to join a small, family‑run bespoke joinery and woodworking manufacturer in Leeds. The role offers full training in CAD, draughting and technical design, allowing you to move from a workshop‑based position to an office‑based technical role.

Key responsibilities

• Produce CAD drawings for bespoke joinery and woodworking projects.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, sketches and client requirements.
• Support the creation of shop drawings, cutting lists and material schedules.
• Collaborate closely with senior CAD technicians, workshop teams and management.

Required profile

• Background in joinery, woodworking or a similar trade.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Interest in developing CAD, design or draughting skills.
• Desire to transition from hands‑on workshop work to an office‑based role.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (or similar CAD software).
• Technical drawing interpretation.
• Basic understanding of draughting principles.
