Junior Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

Vix Technology is seeking a Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join its Security‑as‑a‑Service team. Based in Manchester (three days a week) you will work with colleagues across the UK, France and the USA to protect the systems that keep public transport networks running worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse vulnerabilities and help engineering teams prioritise remediation.
• Produce customer‑facing security reports and support audit activities.
• Contribute to security bids and embed best practices across engineering, cloud and IT teams.
• Translate technical findings into practical advice for diverse audiences.
• Assist in improving internal security processes and fostering a positive security culture.

Required profile

• Curious and eager to understand how systems work.
• 1‑2 years of experience in cyber security or IT, or a recent degree/apprenticeship with hands‑on exposure.
• Solid grasp of cyber security fundamentals, including vulnerability management, risk assessment, secure configuration and incident response.
• Organised, collaborative and comfortable communicating technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
