Junior Demand Planner

About the role

This entry‑level position is ideal for a recent graduate with a placement year in demand planning or a similar field. You will join a leading homewares supplier in Middleton, supporting the Demand Management team while taking ownership of forecasting and stock planning for a small portfolio of accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Demand Management team to build and maintain demand forecasts for a defined portfolio of customers, SKUs and categories.
• Own day‑to‑day forecasting for a small group of accounts, keeping plans up‑to‑date and tracking performance.
• Gather and maintain forecast inputs such as historical sales, promotions, seasonality and customer insight.
• Analyse sales and forecast data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, escalating issues with supporting data.
• Prepare files and update assumptions for forecast review cycles, maintaining clear audit trails.
• Plan and monitor stock requirements, availability and cover, aligning with supplier lead times and promotional activity.
• Produce regular reports on forecast accuracy, sales performance and stock position.
• Collaborate with Sales and Account teams to ensure forecasts reflect promotions, launches and range changes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar demand planning or forecasting role.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and support action.
• Highly organised, able to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Excel (intermediate to advanced, including formulas, VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).
